Morris: God has never dealt with any nation as closely and fully as He has with Israel, but He nevertheless is directly concerned with every nation as a national entity. He has actually established each nation Himself ( Deuteronomy 32:8 ), even determining the geographical boundaries of each and the time when each would rise and fall ( Acts 17:26 ). Every nation has a purpose in history, but Israel had the highest calling of all. God personally gave them (through Moses) the finest governmental and legal system any nation ever had ( Deuteronomy 4:5-8 ), and modern governments would therefore do well to emulate these, in so far as possible. In fact, it is amazing that this Mosaic legal code has since served effectively as the basic legal code for all the greatest nations in modern history. Institute for Creation Research Days of Praise September 2, 2019 Labor Day by Henry Morris “We beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more; And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; that ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.” ( 1 Thessalonians 4:10-12 ) On Labor Day, we traditionally take time to recognize the great workforce here in America. (Jeremy: Our country became Great because Christian people came here to follow the teachings of the Bible. By diligent work we became one of the world’s richest nations. We cannot become Great Again without following Jesus and trusting in the Bible.) From factories to restaurants, from typing pools to machine shops, from schoolrooms to gas stations, laborers help make the economy run, and on this day America honors its workforce. My comments. “. . . his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.” ( 2 Peter 3:16 )  Jeremy: Many false teachers and those who deny God claim the Bible contradicts itself. As well as those who twist the Bible to support their own false interpretation. False Teachers, false religions, and cults start this way.   I have often refuted these false claims, by showing that they are misinterpreting, twisting the facts, or are ignorant of what it says. The Prosperity of the Ungodly by Henry M. Morris, Ph.D. “Righteous art thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?” ( Jeremiah 12:1 ) One of the perennial theological problems is the apparent prosperity of the ungodly along with the suffering of the righteous. Why would God seem to endorse such a system? It has been this way for ages. Some 2,000 or more years before Christ, Job asked essentially the same question as did the prophet Jeremiah in our text above. “Wherefore do the wicked live, become old, yea, are mighty in power? . . . They spend their days in wealth, and . . . say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways” ( Job 21:7 , 13-14 ).
