We now have a new kitty born in April 2017 six months ago. I named her Jamia. It is pronounced jÉ™-MIY-É™, but I pronounce it Jim-e-AH. I expected her to be an unusual cat and wanted to give her an unusual name. The name is rare in America. It is a Scottish. Variation of Jamie. Feminine form of James, which is derived from the Hebrew ya`aqob (supplanted, seizing by the heel) i.e. Jacob. This name is rare so it has never been among the top 1000 names in America. We picked her at a shelter. Then picked her up from the vet October 17, 2017, and she is doing great. The most loving cat I have ever known.
