We now have a new kitty born in April 2017 six months ago. I named her Jamia. It is   pronounced jə-MIY-ə, but I pronounce it Jim-e-AH.  I expected her to be an unusual cat and wanted to give her an unusual name.   The name is rare in America. It is a Scottish. Variation of Jamie. Feminine form of James, which is derived from the Hebrew ya`aqob (supplanted, seizing by the heel) i.e. Jacob. This name is rare so it has never been among the top 1000 names in America. We picked her at a shelter. Then picked her up from the vet October 17, 2017, and she is doing great. The most loving cat I have ever known.

Our beloved cat Wild Thing died of cancer. She was 13 1/2.  She made a rasping sound as she ate, which I thought was odd for several months before. We don't have much money and she seemed alright otherwise. We realized that it was serious when she started slivating and  got so she couldn't eat in her last few weeks . I took her to the vet twice and paid over $200 and found she had a bleeding tumor in the upper part of her mouth. They wanted $1000 for a biopsy that we could not afford, and there was no guarantee. I tried to get Go Fund Me to help, but no one cared. She lasted another three months.   She died two days after this picture was taken below.
