Of course the accident reports to DMV consist of checking boxes of preconceived facts. And most car companies do not report accidents caused by their robot. The statistics that we do have shown that many driverless car accidents are caused by the driver when he falls asleep. Most are caused by other cars rear ending, side swiping by other cars.

The biggest problem is robot cars are jerky, and unpredictable. They can get stuck on left turns in traffic. Many of these rear end accidents are caused when the stupid robot stops for no particular reason.

I remember a truck driver said he hated the automatic breaking whenever a car cuts in front causing the breaks to slam on unexpectedly. I also heard that a robot may decide to avoid a pedestrian and crashing the car killing the driver.
