In Search of Truth
As a
researcher writer into truth involving science and the Bible I have wrestled
over how to reach people with my controversial discoveries. Many of my
discoveries contradict common knowledge assumed to be facts that I found to be
false. They are NOT things I made up or was told, they are facts that I
discovered, and some contradicted what I thought was a fact. I had to change my
mind.
Most people
have false beliefs some more and some less, and reject new facts and
discoveries. This is why they say don’t talk about religion or politics to
avoid controversy. But those are the most important subjects people need to
hear, and those are what I deal with.
Some people
have beliefs that are totally irrational. Even reliable experts that are right
most of the time often have false beliefs. In fact I have found some geniuses
on one subject are idiots when it comes to another subject. John Keel agnostic
UFO researcher is a genius when it comes to UFOs, but when he brings up the
Bible he is a total idiot.
They are like the justice that wants to peak and tip the scales in the direction HE wants instead of the truth. The Bible says God hates King James Bible
"A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight."
People
become upset when they encounter conflicting facts that falsify their beliefs.
Then there is the problem that everyone perceives things from different
viewpoints, which can fool a person. The person who believes something that is
false, perceives the other person to be false. For example, a person in a
stationary vehicle, perceives the vehicle which is moving, as movement by his
own vehicle.
How do you
know if your conclusions are right, and if so how do you convince someone else
that you viewpoint is right?
I often wake
up in the morning with thoughts for an article or research. I woke up with the
word cognitive dissonance popped into my head. I did not know if I had coined
it in my sleep, or if I heard it somewhere. But I knew what it meant. Most
people are plagued with cognitive dissonance. See the definition below.
“In
psychology, cognitive dissonance is the mental
stress or
discomfort experienced by an individual who holds two or more
contradictory beliefs, ideas, or values at the same time; performs an
action that is contradictory to their beliefs, ideas, or values; or is
confronted by new information that conflicts with existing beliefs, ideas or
values.[1][2]
Leon
Festinger's theory
of cognitive dissonance focuses on how humans strive for internal consistency.
An individual who experiences inconsistency tends to become psychologically
uncomfortable, and is motivated to try to reduce this dissonance, as well as
actively avoid situations and information likely to increase it.[1]”

I was still half asleep, but got
up to write notes on this subject before it faded like a dream.
A few days before this I woke up
with thoughts about the rotation of galaxies. I had made a video on this and
Facebook posting and got a lot of attacks from evolutionists.
The fact is how do you determine
if a galaxy rotates clockwise, or counter clockwise. I remember at square dances
the caller would pull a trick by calling circle clockwise. It always takes a
second for dances to figure out that means to the left. The fact is the circle
is clockwise if you are looking down. But if you were on the floor looking up
it would be counterclockwise! I would often say when dances hesitated, “Looking
down.”
Galaxies rotate in both
directions, so which way is a particular galaxy rotating? It all depends on if
you are above or below the galaxy. But there is no up or down in space. You could
use your viewpoint from earth, but would that be correct? A person in space
might see it from a different direction. This is the problem that needs to be
settled before both viewpoints can agree. Right and left is the same principle,
it depends on which direction you are coming from. This is what happens when a
creationist talks to an evolutionist, they come from different directions.
How would you solve the galaxy
rotation? The Bible always has the answer. When God refers to directions like
when he says Israel will be attacked from the North. These directions are
always from Jerusalem. So what does it say about galaxies? The Bible says:
Isaiah 14: 12 How
art thou fallen from heaven,
O Lucifer, son of the morning!
how art thou cut down to the ground,
which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart,
I will ascend into heaven,
I will exalt my throne above the stars of God:
I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation,
in the sides of the north:
O Lucifer, son of the morning!
how art thou cut down to the ground,
which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart,
I will ascend into heaven,
I will exalt my throne above the stars of God:
I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation,
in the sides of the north:
http://www.biblestudymanuals.net/heaven_in_the_north.htmIt
appears from a study of the Scriptures that heaven is located
in the North in our ... "For promotion (salvation) cometh neither from
the east, nor from the west, ...
It appears from a study of the
Scriptures that heaven is located in the North in our universe. When they would
offer the sacrifices in the Old Testament they would offer them northward
toward the Lord. Notice what Moses said in Leviticus 1:11, "And he shall
kill it on the side of the altar northward before the Lord: and the priests,
Aaron's sons, shall sprinkle his blood round about upon the altar." The
implication is clear that the Lord is in the north. "Northward before the
Lord," says God's Word.
Most people believe Heaven is
directly up. But then it would it is either everywhere, or it would be
continually changing as the earth rotates. It does not say God is in the East
or West either since it continually changes as the earth rotates also. So if
Heaven is in the north, then that is up and earth is down. God sees from the
north, man sees from the south. Man’s view is directly the opposite of God’s
knowledge.
Remember the blind men and the
elephant?
Once upon a time, there lived six blind men in
a village. One day the villagers told them, "Hey, there is an elephant in
the village today."
They had no idea what an elephant
is. They decided, "Even though we would not be able to see it, let us go
and feel it anyway." All of them went where the elephant was. Everyone of
them touched the elephant.
"Hey, the elephant is a
pillar," said the first man who touched his leg.
"Oh, no! it is like a
rope," said the second man who touched the tail.
"Oh, no! it is like a thick
branch of a tree," said the third man who touched the trunk of
the elephant.
"It is like a big hand
fan" said the fourth man who touched the ear of the elephant.
"It is like a huge
wall," said the fifth man who touched the belly of the elephant.
"It is like a solid
pipe," Said the sixth man who touched the tusk of the elephant.
They began to argue about the
elephant and everyone of them insisted that he was right. It looked like they
were getting agitated. A wise man was passing by. He stopped and asked them,
"What is the matter?" They said, "We cannot agree to what the
elephant is like." Each one of them told what he thought the elephant was
like. The wise man calmly explained to them, "All of you are right. The
reason every one of you is telling it differently because each one of you
touched the different part of the elephant. So, actually the elephant has all
those features what you all said."
"Oh!" everyone said.
There was no more fight. They felt happy that they were all right.
The moral of the story is that
there may be some truth to what someone says. Sometimes we can see that truth
and sometimes not because they may have different perspective which we may not
agree too. So, rather than arguing like the blind men, we should say, “I will
consider what you say. Truth is often found in different places. So a wise
person must seek all obvious observed facts and put them together like a picture
puzzle. This is what I do.
Most people are selfish and assume
everything they believe is true. This is Humanism, making yourself a god. It is
important to see the whole picture, all the facts and do not select the
circumstantial evidence that fits your preconceived viewpoint and ignore the
rest.
It is important to know if your
beliefs are true or false. This requires all the facts. Facts are based on
observations, repeatable experiments, experience, and two or more witnesses or
facts that are unrelated to each other that point to the same conclusion. And
that there are no proven facts that contradict that conclusion.
Many biased people with their
minds made up fit the facts together even when they don’t fit. All the facts
must fit like a jigsaw puzzle.
Some evidence is not directly
observable like events in the past, or paranormal events. These must be based
on at least some indirect evidence. Conclusions in these situations have to be
based on the preponderance of the evidence. The truth is always supported by
more evidence than something that is false. This is how courts decide the
truth. The evidence is weighed on a scale, truth is decided by the weight and
reliability of the evidence. Like weather forecasts. If it is 70% to 90% it is
almost certain, anything less is just an unproven hypothesis.
It is important that conclusions
not be based on emotions and feelings, they must be based on logic based on proven
facts even when it falsifies what we want and feel comfortable with. Truth may
be outside our comfort zone.
Some say it does not matter what
you believe as long as you have accepted Jesus as your savior you can believe
in random naturalism of evolution. Others say there is no God in spite of the
fact that natural processes like crystallization of mineral, the movement of
celestial objects in the universe, and genetics in organic creatures has to be
created by a conscious living designer to create design. For example cars are
created on a production line by machines, but the machines had to be created by
a human designer.
False conclusions are dangerous.
They can lead you wrong and can end in tragedy and failure. And what you
believe can lead others to destruction also. It is like a spaceship launched by
NASA, it has to have correct information to reach the moon, or it will be lost
in space or crash.
Many people hold onto their beliefs
even in the face of facts that falsify their belief. This is because of pride
and the fear of change and the confusion of changing our lifestyle and
comfortable beliefs. The Bible says Pride goeth before a fall. This was the sin
of Lucifer.
This is why truth is only known by
a small minority. Even some minorities are wrong. The Bible says broad is the
road that leadeth to destruction, and only a few find the narrow path to life
and truth.
