For example, if they find pottery from an older age and different society, they assume wrongly that the place is older and originated from the people who made the pottery. Overlooking that this pottery could had been part of a dowry, or acquired during looting after a battle, or even that someone collected OE bought it seeing it a useful tool for daily use.
