The problem with speciation is it is assumed to be part of evolution. And creationists have fallen for this assuming hybrids are adaptation. There are different kinds of ants, pine trees, palm trees, cats, etc. They did not come from a common ancestor. These do NOT show adaptation, they were designed to live in certain different environments for survival. This is design is not micro-evolution. God used similar genetic designs to create different kinds of let's say ants. The different kinds of ants eat different food (carnivores or herbivores), live in different kinds of ant hills or wood. Some come into houses, some do not. They are different colors, and size. They do not inter breed. Evolutionary Theory Scientifically Falsified All observed evolution is micro-evolution, also called adaptation or speciation. Change within a kind of organism. But it is doubtful that it is always adaptation i.e. improving its chances of surviving, but involving change only. Macro-evolution from horse to dog is never seen. In genetics we only observe chromosome loss - not increase in chromosome numbers. However, macro-evolution requires an INCREASE in genetic information. In fact evolutionists have never found a mechanism for this fictional increase either. They simply tell just so stories as if it were a fact. Creation scientists are doing a good work for the Lord, but they are not always right. I was reading an old Institute for Creation Research, Acts and Facts June 2015. I do not agree that there are any beneficial mutations or adaptations. There are NO beneficial mutations! Random processes always go down hill, never up. Most creation scientists believe in micro evolution, also called adaptation or speciation. I used to believe this too, but as a result of my research for my book Mysteries of History Revealed with observations of  fossils I discovered, I have been convinced that the idea of adaptation or micro evolution has no more evidence for it than macro Darwinian evolution.
