Grover Katzmarek Sr I was leaning in some respects towards a young earth even though there were some arguments to the contrary.
Then I came across a modern English translation by Ferrera Fenton who translated the days in Genesis 1 as ages. Before any condemn this man and his fifty years of work, making his translation directly from original languages into English need to read what this man did.

Jeremy Auldaney Mike Ridenour Right. There is a Sabbath in creation week, a Sabbath in our weeks today, and there is a Sabbath in the 7 thousand years of history.
Daniel Warrick How did the plants survive from day three until the next "age" without the CO2 gas converted by the animals created on day 5? How did they survive without the sun created on day 4? You cant fit thousands of years into a "day" in Genesis. There isn't room for creation to thrive.

Daniel Warrick Besides that, God declared a measurement of one day, in Genesis 14. "And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:"
So he used the term "day" to describe a length of time, then he told us how to measure that length of time. It's very clear, and there can be no scriptural acceptance of a "day" meaning thousands of years. There is no way to fit 1000's of years into one rotation of the earth.

Daniel Warrick The problem seems to be with the translation you are using. How many "one days" are there? Many, many. How many "The first days" are there? Only one. Words have meaning, and words get lost in translation.

Jeremy Auldaney Daniel Warrick I was 6 years old, when I told my parents. If plants were created on one day, and insects on another, then how would the yucca get pollinated by the moth? The creation days had to be days and not millions of years. I think the older we get the dumbed some people get from brain washing.

Grover Katzmarek Sr I have been very busy with my son Buddy who is thirty years old who was last week diagnosed with cancer. We are waiting for Mayo clinic determine which cancer and where it started, so only this evening was I able to do in the Word translated day in Genesis.

Jeremy Auldaney Grover Katzmarek Sr This is out of context. A day is as a thousand years and a thousand years is a day is NOT an unspecified length of time. And it is not discussing a 24 hour day like in Genesis. It is a reference to the symbolism of the days of creation as representing the days of earth's history, which will be 7 thousand years from the Creation to the end of the Millennium when God recreates a perfect earth and brings in eternity. Liberal theologians lie about this. There will be 6 thousand years, then the Sabbath represents the Millennium of Jesus Reign in Jerusalem for one thousand years.

When you say in my Day, you do not mean a 24 hour day, but when you say today, or the Day I lost my home you are referring to a particular day. Many theologians have been taught by or are agents of Satan who want to twist the truth to fit evolution so people will not believe the Bible for salvation. And they want you to believe that the church will save the world through works led by the Antichrist.

I have thought about this for some time now, or one carbon dating is a farce, but lets just say for a second the science community is correct with there belief that the earth is millions of years old, my answer to that would be the matter of which God used to create the world was millions of years old but life or mankind is only 6000 years old...

DeleteCarbon Dating does not prove millions of years. It only dates things in thousands of years. And it is found in all fossils proving they are not millions of years old but rather thousands of years. And soft organic remains in fossils also proves they are thousands of years old also. As for the other radioactive methods they all give different dates for the same rock. And when the date is known to be recent, it dates it as millions of years old. Radioactive dating is a fraud!
DeleteNo carbon dating is the only radioactive method that comes close to being right. However, assumptions based on lawyer Charles Lyell's (Liar Liar) uniformitarianism speculation are wrong. The past was not like the present. The world had no cosmic radiation before the radiation shield collapsed during the worldwide cataclysm of the Deluge in 2347 BC.
ReplyDeleteA critical assumption used in carbon-14 dating has to do with this ratio. It is assumed that the ratio of 14C to 12C in the atmosphere has always been the same as it is today (1 to 1 trillion). If this assumption is true, then the AMS 14C dating method is valid up to about 80,000 years. Beyond this number, the instruments scientists use would not be able to detect enough remaining 14C to be useful in age estimates. This is a critical assumption in the dating process. If this assumption is not true, then the method will give incorrect dates. What could cause this ratio to change? If the production rate of 14C in the atmosphere is not equal to the removal rate (mostly through decay), this ratio will change. In other words, the amount of 14C being produced in the atmosphere must equal the amount being removed to be in a steady state (also called “equilibrium”). If this is not true, the ratio of 14C to 12C is not a constant, which would make knowing the starting amount of 14C in a specimen difficult or impossible to accurately determine.
Dr. Willard Libby, the founder of the carbon-14 dating method, assumed this ratio to be constant. His reasoning was based on a belief in evolution, which assumes the earth must be billions of years old. Assumptions in the scientific community are extremely important. If the starting assumption is false, all the calculations based on that assumption might be correct but still give a wrong conclusion.
In Dr. Libby’s original work, he noted that the atmosphere did not appear to be in equilibrium. This was a troubling idea for Dr. Libby since he believed the world was billions of years old and enough time had passed to achieve equilibrium. Dr. Libby’s calculations showed that if the earth started with no 14C in the atmosphere, it would take up to 30,000 years to build up to a steady state (equilibrium).
If the cosmic radiation has remained at its present intensity for 20,000 or 30,000 years, and if the carbon reservoir has not changed appreciably in this time, then there exists at the present time a complete balance between the rate of disintegration of radiocarbon atoms and the rate of assimilation of new radiocarbon atoms for all material in the life-cycle.2
Dr. Libby chose to ignore this discrepancy (nonequilibrium state), and he attributed it to experimental error. However, the discrepancy has turned out to be very real. The ratio of 14C /12C is not constant.
The Specific Production Rate (SPR) of C-14 is known to be 18.8 atoms per gram of total carbon per minute. The Specific Decay Rate (SDR) is known to be only 16.1 disintegrations per gram per minute.3
What does this mean? If it takes about 30,000 years to reach equilibrium and 14C is still out of equilibrium, then maybe the earth is not very old.
Magnetic Field of the Earth
Other factors can affect the production rate of 14C in the atmosphere. The earth has a magnetic field around it which helps protect us from harmful radiation from outer space. This magnetic field is decaying (getting weaker). The stronger the field is around the earth, the fewer the number of cosmic rays that are able to reach the atmosphere. This would result in a smaller production of Carbon 14 in the atmosphere in earth’s past.
