    American Center for Law and Justice: The radical Left’s unconstitutional impeachment is dangerous for our republic.

    But it’s already starting to unravel as 45 Senators have indicated they agree with our legal analysis that this is an unconstitutional impeachment trial of a former President – a PRIVATE CITIZEN.

1.The Constitution provides for the impeachment of “The President,” not a former President.

2.You can’t impeach a private citizen – in the law we’d call that an unconstitutional bill of attainder.

3.The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court isn’t serving as the presiding officer – something the Constitution requires: “When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside.”

    This is clearly an unconstitutional impeachment trial. It’s a political harassment trial of President Trump.

    We cannot allow the radical Left to cheapen impeachment and shred the Constitution.
